A laser hair removal spa exited a lawsuit from one of its clients after it was able to persuade a Texas appeals court the claim is one of health care liability requiring expert testimony.

An expert is necessary because training to use a hair removal machine takes “extensive experience,” which indicates that such matters aren’t common knowledge of laypersons, the Texas Court of Appeals, Fourteenth District said, reversing the trial court’s order denying Jalaram Med Spa Inc’s motion to dismiss.
